Over the last couple of months, I haven’t been as active on my site. Hopefully, I’ll be able to start regularly updating.

There are two major things I’m working on right now, both of them pretty experimental. The first is Jess and Eric’s House, which is a working title (that will probably become the actual title giving my titling history). I’ve been thinking a lot about still lives/ domestic paintings, as well as the nature of how memory compounds and invests feelings in people and places. What I’ve been doing is making a sort of kind/jarring painting that places Jess and Eric in every room of their house at once. Picture a child’s doll house, all opened up. It’s about ?% of the way there.

Here are some of the sketches. It’s been hard to paint people I know, so I’ve been working hard to make sketches that work. Below are some of the studies I’ve been doing to put in the painting.
