So, years ago, when I was painting halfway as a joke/wait I’m actually serious guys, I made my good friends Jeff and Elyse Hackman lions for their wedding.
….and then they started having kids.
The two lions beneath the big lion picture are for their two boys. Recently, they had a little girl, and they asked me to do another painting. Hence:
You know what’s really weird? Making four paintings in the same fabric style you never use over a period of ten years. Looking at all these photos now, I realize that the new painting I did is about twice as put together as any of the rest of them. I hope she becomes president just to justify how put together that little lion cub is.
I suggested they adopt a kid. I’d really like to do a tiger.
